The Fricken Disaster That is Trump and Project 2025
Trump and Project 2025 is doing incalculable damage. How does one rebuild the international aid we so generously built as an entity and gave to those who are less fortunate in this world. He is attempting and rather successfully, to destroy our international student studies programs at various universities that incubates the brightest of young minds and who often stay here and develop new technologies. We were the first among nations. Trump wants it destroyed probably because he was never intelligent enough to equate with the bright minds of these young adults. International scientists working on all manner of new inventions are beginning to realize they can’t survive here in the US since federal grants are being terminated all so more wealth can be diverted into fewer hands in the Big Beautiful Bill. They have destroyed the EPA which has protected the people from industrial harm.
I know I have said this before and I’ll say it again, it takes two to tango. Our side allowed this to happen. We went too far with our DEI. Ya I know I just turned most of you readers off. But DEI in my opinion stands for inclusion unless you are in that “privileged “ group at which point you are kinda excluded. I can give numerous frustrating personal examples in my life and it has pissed me off. I am not privileged I struggle every fucken day of my life. Stop telling me I’m privileged. The only difference is I didn’t go running into the wrong arms as so many others have.
The administration has declared war on immigration. Our system has been broken for many years. This inability to fix immigration is no doubt due to our electioneering which is now controlled by humongous dark money. No nation on earth allows open borders yet the Biden administration did not act forcefully enough during the first two years. Why couldn’t he foresee this being an important issue to Americans? I’m in favor of controlled immigration. Both of my grandparents originated in Europe. My views are mixed on the repression taking place with the national directive to employ federal thugs hiding under facial masks to drag people off the streets similar to nationalist movements and here I’m thinking of the Nazis in Hitler Germany. If their activity was limited to seeking those who committed crimes but it isn’t. Today I’m likely hiring a contractor group (a man and two women from south of the border) to repair aluminum siding on my house. I don’t care whether they are undocumented or not. They know their business and they have quoted me a fair price. I don’t want them to be deported. They are valuable members of our community. I will offer them refuge in my home if they need sanctuary by the time the finish.
These issues have driven a wedge in our society. Equality yes. This new fangled concept of diversity and inclusion as long as you are not in the privileged crowd, no. Let’s just stop it now. Let’s move to the center. Or we won’t win or maybe just sneak in with a token victory but not with overwhelming numbers to effect much needed change in Congress. And please don’t ask me for all the solutions I’m just an art dealer and would-be writer and songwriter. I don’t have all the answers. But I do know that when a society sows division, it’s usually game time for the authoritarians to jump up and take control. This is my understanding of our current situation.
(At least Babe the Cat is not purr-turbed over this crapola.)
Addendum: Just because this DEI is the modus operandi and accepted without question, and just because it’s being dismantled by the authoritarian state, that does not influence my judgment. Does it serve to bring people together. No, it separates us. I just don’t understand why so many fail to understand this. When will we learn? But I do understand the power and acceptance of Group Think which is then augmented by selective events in our lives to justify our beliefs.
I believe in equality for all and within that parameter, all are equal. And that has been my philosophy my whole life.
